Evonik is a stable, specialty chemical pharmaceutical manufacturer in Greater Lafayette, Indiana that offers you many opportunities for career advancement. When you work at Evonik, you’ll be provided with on-the-job training from expert colleagues to help you quickly gain the knowledge and new skills needed to excel in your new role as Operator. You will work on exciting and challenging topics with a team in an ultra-modern, innovative and creative environment.
What You'll Do as an Operator
- Follow written manufacturing documents
- Summarize observations & activities verbally & in writing
- Demonstrate basic math skills
- Perform troubleshooting & demonstrate critical thinking
- Maintain a clean & safe work area
- Adhere to all rules & procedures
- Participate in safety & continuous improvement teams
- Willing to work 12-hour shifts, days and nights
- Must be flexible and willing to adjust schedule as needed
- May be required to work overtime
Key Requirements
- Prior manufacturing experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass WorkKeys assessment
- Ability to wear required PPE – including a respirator
- Ability to work in confined spaces for internal inspection
- Ability to work in a high noise/high temperature environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs
- Ability to safely handle hazardous materials
- Valid driver’s license
